Reference case - Energy infrastructure

SAP-Salesforce integration for a large energy network operator.

An anonymised enterprise reference covering SAP, Salesforce, Esri GIS and a dedicated geospatial data preparation and enrichment application.

First phase

3 months

Initial SAP-Salesforce implementation delivered quickly.

Delivery

On time & budget

Delivered against the agreed first-phase commitment.

Commercial proof

Further phases

The customer commissioned the next steps afterwards.

Operations

Stable live run

The integration continues to run reliably in production.

Delivered landscape

One business flow across four different systems.

The challenge was not simply moving data from A to B. It required connectivity, mapping, enrichment and operational control across the participating systems.

Relay owned the end-to-end integration work across the operational flow rather than treating each interface as an isolated connector.

The situation

One operational process across several specialised systems.

For a large energy network operator, different parts of the business context lived in different systems. SAP held core business data and process logic, Salesforce handled operational workflow, Esri GIS provided geographic and network context, and a dedicated application prepared and enriched geospatial data for downstream use.

The integration challenge was therefore not simply copying fields between two endpoints. The process required mapping, transformation, enrichment, orchestration and reliable data exchange across the participating systems.

  • SAP as enterprise core
  • Salesforce for operational workflow
  • Esri GIS for geographic and network context
  • Dedicated geospatial data preparation and enrichment
What e-switch delivered

End-to-end responsibility across the flow.

e-switch owned the integration work across the participating systems rather than treating each interface as an isolated connector. The delivered work combined connectivity with the mapping, transformation and enrichment logic required by the operational process.

The first SAP-Salesforce implementation established the foundation in three months. After that success, the customer commissioned further phases, and the integration has remained stable in day-to-day production operation since go-live.

  • System connectivity across the participating applications
  • Cross-system mapping, transformation and enrichment
  • Production operation, monitoring and error handling
  • A scalable foundation for further integration phases
